The murder case against a California teenager who shot a gay classmate in a school classroom has gone to the jury.
The Los Angeles jury received the case Friday morning after the conclusion of final arguments in the eight-week trial.
The defense sought to convince jurors they should not convict 17-year-old Brandon McInerney of first-degree murder with a hate-crime enhancement, but instead weigh whether it was voluntary manslaughter.
